Our Story
Stone by stone, we will keep growing, through enthusiasm and passion for what we do, to reach our goals as one team!
Innovation and reliability since 2011
Envirex was established on November 1st 2011, by Thomas Aunvik from Klepp and Kenneth Thunheim from Bryne. They both had a solid background within hydraulic mechanics as project engineers.
To get the business going during the first couple of years, they were hired as consultants for other large companies, working with development and manufacturing of hydraulic devices and mechanical equipment. Long days, and rarely any vacation, slowly but surely secured the capital needed to grow Envirex. All profits were reinvested into the company.
Gradually, there was more activity in Envirex’ workshop, and Thomas ended his consultant contract to focus fully on building the company. Shortly after, Kenneth did the same. This resulted in an increasing amount of work in the workshop, and a growing belief that they were onto something.
First employment in 2012
In January 2012, the first employee joined Envirex. As the workload increased, it became clear that new skills were needed to take the company further. The team taught themselves 3D and 2D design, while continuously investing in machines and equipment. Step by step, Envirex was able to take on larger and more complex projects.
Growth through new ideas and opportunities
The oil crisis in 2014 became an unexpected opportunity. While many companies were forced to reduce activity, Envirex experienced increased demand. At the same time, the founders saw a need in the market for more flexible solutions and access to equipment without large capital investments.
This led to the establishment of Envirent in 2014, focusing on offshore and subsea rental solutions tailored to the industry’s changing needs. This enables customers to access high-quality equipment without large upfront investments.
Envirent laid the groundwork for further technological development in the years that followed. Experience from projects and close collaboration with clients led to new ideas and technology development. What started as engineering and workshop activity gradually expanded into more specialized subsea solutions.
This includes FOX Subsea, established in 2020, focusing on modular subsea control systems, and OceanOne, established in 2024, working to simplify subsea pumping through the SubComm system.
Both are built on the same foundation, and this includes practical experience, customer needs, and a drive to improve existing solutions.
The future looks bright
As the years have gone by, more skilled and committed people have joined the team. What started as a small company has grown into a strong professional group with a shared mindset and culture.
Our values contribute to ensuring that Envirex Group remains an attractive supplier and employer. Together with our employees, we continue to develop our workplace, building a highly competent environment where we learn from each other.
Stone by stone, we will keep growing, through enthusiasm and passion for what we do, to reach our goals as one team!
